Apollo 1

Today is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 1 fire that took the lives of Gus Grissom, Ed White, and Roger Chaffee.

Out of that tragedy came an extremely capable spacecraft that did not lose a man during one of the most demanding exploration programs to date.
